Make Music Day started in France 44 years ago and crossed the Atlantic to the states in 2006. The day is now celebrated in more than 2,000 cities across dozens of countries. Song Circle Houston has participated since 2021. Make Music Day will replace our normal 3rd Sunday Song Circle!!! 1pm start at Kojak’s!

• The Old Quarter Acoustic Cafe in Galveston hosts a songwriter night on the 3rd Wednesday of each month. It is hosted on alternating months by Grifters & Shills or Brightwire. This Sunday is the next Song Circle at Kojak’s Cafe! We’ll kick it off at 1pm and run until 5-ish. This month’s song seed is: Doors. We’ll see you there!

Upcoming Song Circle Houston Shows:
May 14th 2026 – A Different Thread with Hearth and Home

This Thursday, March 12th, we have a special Song Circle Houston sponsored show at Kojak’s cafe. Aaron Nathans will be in town from his native Philadelphia, PA area, along with local songwriter Narissa Bond, who will open the show. Aaron has been a three-time Kerrville New Folk Finalist (!), and a winner of the South Florida Folk Festival songwriting contest. This should be a great show! No tickets or cover charge, we pass the donation jar for the performers. Suggested Donation is $20.

Come on out for some good food, beer and wine, camraderie, and above all, some great music! Free parking. Kojaks is located at 1912 W 18th street, in Timbergrove, Houston.

Also, this Sunday, March 15th will be our monthly song circle, also at Kojak’s. The circle kicks off around 1pm and will run until 5pm. Come when you can, leave when you must. We look forward to seeing y’all!
